Parade of Lights set for Saturday

The city of Coppell will hold the Spirit of Coppell Holiday Parade of Lights and Celebration from 6 to 10 p.m. Saturday. The parade starts at 6:30 p.m.

Portions of Samuel Boulevard, south of Parkway Boulevard will be blocked as the parade begins its line-up at 5 p.m. Once the parade passes through the various intersections on the parade route, those intersections will be reopened.

The parade begins at Parkway and Samuel, and travels westward to Town Center Boulevard, just west of city hall.

For safety reasons, vehicular traffic will be limited in and out of the Town Center parking lot at 255 Parkway Boulevard, according to a press release.

Parking is available on the north side of the Justice Center, 130 Town Center Boulevard, and at the Aquatic Recreation Center, 234 Parkway Boulevard, all within walking distance.

All intersections along the parade route will be temporarily closed as the parade passes through. Drivers should observe all traffic signs and be cautious of children.

The lighting of Town Center will take place immediately after the parade.

The parade ends at Town Center Plaza, but the fun will just continue with the tree lighting, the tubing hill, Coppell ISD performances, refreshments, roaming carolers and Santa Claus.
